New Equipment, Uniforms, Turf, Dressing Rooms, Anything???

Postby HawleyRocks » Wed Sep 06, 2017 9:33 pm

Does Anyone Have Anything New To Share At Their Facilities????

Hawley has a new run-through tunnel...

Last year during our playoff game with Abernathy, when we came out for the second half, our kids were in the tunnel and it basically exploded and died... Sad to say, that was also how we played the second half as well....

Our old tunnel had seen its better days that is for sure and was somewhere between 12 and 14 years old... You never expect these things to last forever, but to pop while the boys are in it celebrating and getting ready to come out all fired up and then it just laid down and died.... It was a sad day.... Ha ha...

So, our Booster Club went to work raising money to purchase a new one... They did all kinds of fund raisers from bake sales as well as a city wide yard sale that was set up out on Highway 277 and ran it for several weekends. A lot of boosters worked their tails off in order to get this thing paid for and ordered in time for the first game last Friday night.

Here it is my pleasure to show you the fruits of their labor... :ymapplause: :-bd \:D/

The first picture is our old one that died.... :(( :(( :((

Who installed your field?

Hellas installed ours and we were told it was better than Cowboy Stadium, which they also installed since our was "permanent" and didn't have to be removable.

Getting a new tunnel, but it won't be ready until district rolls around. The old one needed to be replaced several years ago IMHO.

New helmets, but same color (white) & decal. Linemen got new face masks, they're pretty nice looking (the face masks, that is ;) ).

Funny story, we're actually losing one of our jersey's. Black color and the number on it is royal blue with white outline. Son told me they can't use them because the numbers supposedly can't be seen from 50 yards away. He was told it's a new UIL rule. Wondered what was going on when they warmed up in their "blackout" scheme then came out for the game with blue jersey/black pants. Stinks because that black scheme looks pretty good - guess that's out the window now. I can read the numbers on the opposite end of the field from the top of the bleachers after dark no problem; that's gotta be close to 50 yards. So we're left with royal blue jersey's and grey jersey's for home games.

Oh well.....

Last year Falls City moved into a brand new school K-12. This year a brand new football stadium with turf and all weather track. Let me tell you it is real nice. 1500 seating capacity. :D
