Displaced student athletes

Postby endguardtackle » Tue Aug 29, 2017 7:50 pm

Where do they go to school and are they allowed to participate in extra-curicular activities? If so, some teams may get a pretty good boost esp. the Dallas, Waco, Austin, and San Antonio areas teams/schools. :?: :?: :?:

I would check both of these guys ip addresses and I would bet they match up.They sure do look suspicous to me. At least hoodini was fun and games (annoying yes) but I am starting to think this guy is pushing his limits.

I noticed there are like the same 6 to 8 people are about all that respond on here. Maybe Ganado people dont feel welcomed on here. Ive said NOTHING wrong. Different ideas and thoughts is what make a good FORUM. Everyone shouldnt have to agree to discuss on here. If you want a place where everyone can agree maybe go to a local Dairy Queen!

lol. Blackshirt, what town do you support? I get on several forums from baseball, football, to basketball including college and NBA. I know that not everyone agrees but let's try not to be an agitator in a time like these.

They did pass something for Katrina and Rita. I know they don't always make the greatest decisions but I would hope in times likes they would make exceptions.

Here is a link to UIL Leaguer from 2005.

There is an article that discusses realignment issues regarding data gathering if students have to move off.

I support good football. However that being said Refugio is fun to watch especially when they do a pass game unlike last year which was more run. Their crowds are crazy loud too. So i do njoy them. Might be most fun controversial team in the state. Just njoy good fun football.

Controversial?? I don't see anything in the media about any controversy in Refugio. As far as I can tell you are the only one harping on the PAST...

I do remember the UIL making certain rule changes to accommodate Hurricane Katrina kids. Remember some of these kids homes are completely destroyed. They may live with family members as homes are rebuilt, or their family may restart somewhere completely new.

I dare any District Committee to deny any kid's eligibility who was in Harvey's path.

Yes UIL should make an exception . some of these kids could miss out on college opportunities if not allowed to play and be seen. Plus just the whole experience of football being missed. I agree let them play.

I just saw where the Rockport Coach says that players that wait until Rockport school opens to go to school will be eligible to play for Rockport, and players that go to other towns must wait 15 days, then they will be eligible to play for the school they went to. Just relaying what he said.
It's a pretty good day when you're on your way and you like where you're going. And you've got what you want and you want what you've got and you're wise enough to know it.

Homeless kids have special rules. UIL should clarify soon. My guess is 15 days.

They can play JV right away if they are displaced and enroll at another school. ...but have to wait 15 days to play varsity. ...when the school reopens they can go back to their original school and don't have a waiting period....they can play varsity right away
