So, High School Football 2020?

Post by PurplePunch »

It would seem, with the discovery and manufacturing of quick-results tests, and several vaccines in some stage of testing, we should be able to play by mid-late August. We may have to wear masks, and might have to produce proof of vaccination or lick a saliva test strip, but that seems a small price to pay to watch TE Punchers on Friday and the Horns Saturday!
Or am I whistling in the darkness?

I'm guessing it would depend on if there is the predicted second wave in the Fall.

I heard Falls City's Head Coach is leaving for a job in Merkel. I wonder who will want to come to Falls City?

One of the Dave Campbell's writers made a post about the UIL planning on playing football and they have several contingency plans in place to try and play football next season. It would seem that any concrete decision is months away but I'd like to think that sometime in July we will get a pretty solid answer as to how we are going to go about this.

Keep the test kits coming! I have a feeling that’s going to be a factor in getting to the new normal.

I tell you what, me included I thought I had this thing awhile back.I have read many stories and comments from many places and the consensus seems to be that this thing was here in the Fall. I have been coughing for months along with some other covid symptoms that have come and gone during that time period. I did get an antibody test which came back negative(mind you the antibody test is 80 to 90% accurate) last week and will get the actual corona test tomorrow morning along with my daughter who has been coughing for near a month as well. It may be allergies but with doctors not allowing you to see them face to face and the only way to get that to happen is if you go to the er it is hard to get a proper diagnosis.

With all of that said the number of people that have had this is likely in the millions easily here in the U.S. I believe the death rate is near or below 1% so I am in favor of allowing if it is not already taking place herd immunity and the safe opening up of the country.

I think we can and will get to this point but some of those northeastern states may still be on mandatory lock-down until 2022. People don't seem to understand the unintended deaths and or consequences of shutting the country and world down. People are dying because of the shutdown.
