Great job by yalls staff lining all that up.
We have two JVs - one mainly sophomores with 3 freshmen, one mainly freshmen - and 8th and 7th grade teams. None of our opponents, including 3A has that, so the coaches cast a wide net. Luckily, San Angelo Glenn, Wall, Sonora, Hondo, Abilene Wylie, Fredericksburg, Salado or someone else usually has an open team, our coaches work hard to find them, our school district supports the travel, and the affected parents just divide up and travel with friends. Our kids learn early how much they are valued, and how much Puncher football matters.
Last week the varsity was open so they practiced on Thursday. The 7th grade game in Menard started at 5; by the second quarter 6 of the varsity players, the head coach and defensive coordinator were at the game, as were several dozen parents and fans. The head coach and DC, who help with junior high practice last period and after school until high school practice starts, were on the field coaching away. I have a grandson on that team, so when I say they are a motley crew I say it with love - yet they somehow are 3-0.
