2020 : 2A DIV 1 & 2 FOOTBALL SCHEDULES & RESULTS

There will be some challenges that all schools face this year due to the Corona. Refugio will have some that you mentioned as well but I do look for them to overcome adversity and do just fine. I know Ganado had a time getting a schedule together against teams we had normally been playing. At least our 2 scrimmages are not against juggernauts. They are formidable though.

Some of these smaller counties need to adjust and allow for football b the end of this week!!

I assume that is due to counties stating no football as well as private school delays. Wonder what will happen to the schools where the county currently says no sports and the teams on their schedule find a new opponent, then the county turns around and says sports on...won't be any opponents to play.

Those two are the biggest reasons.

As of right now, Goldthwaite and Hamilton will play in week one.
Crawford and Goldthwaite were scheduled in week one, as was Hamilton and Moody.
But that changed because Crawford and Moody both fall under McCleanen (sp?) county guidelines and won’t be able to start football on time.
According to the paper this may change by week one.
Also Goldthwaite will not have a first scrimmage.

I think Hamilton and Goldthwaite switched back to original plan after Texas AG over-road all counties order. Schools can open up if they want. Now some in Rio Grand Valley will remain closed or online only. Teams like Bruni and in that area.

Shiners district changed to allow for covid bye weeks. Shiner is now this

Week1: Hallettsville
Week2: Blanco
Week3: Smithville
Week4: open
Week5: Flatonia
Week6: covid open week
Week7:Weimar
Week8:Ganado
Week9: covid open week
Week10:Schulenburg
Week11:covid open week

Shiner is still in search of a week 4 game as well.
