Could be considered the State Championship in 2A....not sure how other regions stack up. Harleton went up this year and Crawford is done already, so not sure which team can knock off Region 4 this year. I know Joaquin is good and what about Bells/Tom Bean
Archer/Petrolia will be tough as well.

100th playoff win in softball...most of any school, at any classification...best playoff winning pct. of all classifications in softball playoff history in Texas.

Archer City beat Petrolia in game 1 4-3
Joaquin beat Woden in game 1...3-1
Tom Bean and Bells play tonight...all good teams left to win the gold

I think the Shiner Lady Comanches will be tough to beat. The next few years they have a great chance to get back to Austin. They're JV team is pretty shout. Probably could beat most varsity teams in 2A

Ac takes series 2/0

Ac and petrolia played 4 times this yr. each game was decided by 1 run. You can't get anymore even than that AC just happened to get the last 2. Very intense games w runners on every inning and 2 great warriors pitching their tails off. FYI Petrolia only loses 1 Sr and it's not the pitcher they will be loaded next yr.

AC 3rd time was the charm. Fantastic way for these group of 6 srs go out after so many heartbreaks.

STATE BOUND

Y'all are old hats. Only AC 2nd appearance. We won it in 2000 or 2001 not so sure it wasn't y'all we beat to win it. We had a stud of a pitcher. Every squirrel finds a nut we found it that day but show how long and old hats y'all are. We are honestly very grateful to have the chance and on the end that's all ya can ask for

Heard it was best vs worst which means good chance we play y'all we had 6 losses and 2 ties. Played some tough tournaments early on. Teams like Grandview who were regional finals in 3a don't know if they advanced, west defending 3a state champs(eliminated), and some big school that was salty. Plus 2 losses in district to very good Petrolia team. We beat Krum who will be there in 4a

Based on overall winning pct.
Archer 26-6-2
Shiner 24-2-2
Woden 24-3
Bells 30-3- top seed based on that
Shiner who won it last 2 years was 4th seed....when you play a tough schedule a team might have more losses but it doesn't mean you're the weakest team there
This will be a very competitive 2A tourney

I can vouch for Ac stepping up to the tougher schedule. Tip my hat to the coach in that. That Grandview tourney was a booger bear we picked up 2 losses to Grandview, 1 to West and beat 4a Krum. we also played another tough tourney had a tie in it. Saw some good pitching which in our district only 2 other teams, Windthorst and ptown have any pitching at all

Winning %
Bells .909
Woden .889
Shiner .857
Archer City .765

Not that it matters at this point!!!

UIL places the two best win percentages on opposite sides of the bracket there is then a flip to determine the opponent.

It was 2001. Archer City was 2A (now 3A) back in those days!! My niece played on that team. Defeated Weimar 2-1 in the Championship game. Archer defeated Rogers 2-0 in the semi-finals.

Shiner won the 1A State Championship that year defeating Joaquin 10-4. Shiner had to get past Brock in the semi-finals winning 2-1 in 11 innings. Brock knocked Windthorst out that year 3-1 in the region finals!!

Seems like it the same group of teams year in and year out that put quality teams on the field. Brock is back at State this year in 3A.
