HOW WERE THE FIRST DAYS IN YOUR TOWN

Postby TEXASHOLDEM » Tue Jan 31, 2017 10:05 am

Pretty quite out there in baseball towns? It was nice to drive by and see the lights on and hear the crack of the bats and pop of the gloves.
Here in CP we've got 6 starters not playing basketball so they are getting a lot of extra work and reps. We open up Feb. 20th vs 3a ranked Blanco. Hope everyone is also looking forward to an exciting baseball season.

We have two starters in basketball playing out the string!!! We start off with 3 tournaments - Early, American Cancer Society (Windthorst), and our own tournament. We are scheduled for 6 games in our tournament over 3 days including two against 3A #2 Gunter. Pretty sure we have 6 scheduled for the ACS tournament as well. We have district games scheduled Monday and Tuesday following our tournament so will be interesting to see how the pitching staff is handled with the pitch count/rest requirements

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a butt-load of games in a short amount of time and dealing with new pitch counts
Hopefully your pitchers arms will be in shape that early

Pretty sure we will have at least 10 kids in the pitching program. Granted when the games start to count, ie district and playoffs they will be culled down and those not quite as sharp/good will do most of their throwing in bullpen sessions.

It will be very interesting to see how the 1a, 2a, & 3a teams use their pitching this year. I know we are in very good shape coming into the season if everyone stays healthy. We will have our numbers 1, 2, & 3 pitchers returning for their senior seasons and 2 juniors who will be called upon to be used when needed. It will come down to THROWING STRIKES and playing DEFENSE to keep pitch counts down.
