BC Player of the Week: Stamford's multi-sport star Hutchinso

Postby bluedawg » Tue Apr 02, 2013 7:41 am

His high school football and basketball careers are now behind him.

But Stamford senior Hagen Hutchinson isn’t quite finished collecting Big Country Player of the Week awards. Not just yet, at least.

A multiple winner of the accolade, Hutchinson chalked up yet another last week with quality efforts in three separate sports.

On the links, he shot a 76 to take the individual title at the Hamlin golf tournament.

On the baseball diamond, Hutchinson finished the week a combined 2-for-6 with three RBIs in two games. And in his spare time, tossed a pair of scoreless innings in relief against Roby.

On the track, he took two gold medals at Merkel’s Badger Relays, running legs for the winning 400 and 800 relay teams. He also took silver with the 1,600 relay team later in the day.

If there is an athletic endeavor this kid doesn’t excel at, I’ve yet to see it.

Remarkable.
