First track meet of the season for us will be Thursday at Seymour. Girls team had a good turnout but disappointed in our boys team. We have five throwers, one boy running both hurdles, one boy running 800 and a third boy running 1600 & 2400. Only three runners! I have my suspicions about the low turnout but will cheer these guys on as they do their best. Good luck to all and try to stay warm. Early track meets typically are cold.

Stamford should be good, maybe not as strong as last year, but with James Washington on the 400 and 800 relays, the 200, high jump and triple jump, the Dawgs should make some noise this year.

I'd have run that time to just to get back on the warm bus as fast as I could. :)) Honestly, great time for this young man and I expect his times will improve with warmer weather.

I know we ran a 1.30+ in the 800 relay. Pretty good time this early. Have a 400 runner in 49's, and a long jumper at 22+. Not bad so far.

I didn't go to the meet. I had been in Fredericksburg earlier in the week on a spring break trip. I can't wait to see the guys run this year. Just hasn't worked for me this year. Thinking about taking off for the district meet though.

1:30+ not bad in 800 relay. Stamford has been dominant in this relay finishing 1st or 2nd last few yrs. need to be in high 1:20's to medal it seems

Stamford has been blessed with 200 meter kids the last several years.
Last year 1st 1.28.62
2012 1st 1.28.79
2011 2cond 1.29.25
2010 1st 1.30.20

State Record is 1.28.38

Windyfan, Anson does have a good track team, not so much top times but they have a ton of kids out and al are placing sone where prety unusuall since their baseball team is also loaded.

Yeah, we have some work in there yet, Aces. We have a kid running a 10.5 hundred though. That's not bad! I'm going to go! Finals start at 5:30! Two baseball games and a track meet this week! Tough life!

James Washington gains another 5 golds at the Merkel meet, triple, long, 100, 200 and 800 relay. Anson was also at the meet with a lot of kids placing in a lot of events, district meet gonna be tough. I noticed that Mason won the san Saba meet with an excellent mile relay time of 3:24:05.

Enjoyed our Windthorst Invitational track meet last night, great weather until the big dust storm blew in just before the 1600m relay. :-O

Proud of my son for setting four P.R.s for himself; 110m hurdles: 16.52 300m hurdles: 44.45 Long Jump: 18' Triple Jump: 35'5"

It was his first time jumping this year so I'm betting his legs are sore today.

Good thing Munday graduated all their hosses from last year, they won it with a 3:20. Munday also holds the record with a 3:18 from back in the day when the Collier twins were running. But Good Luck to the Punchers this year, looks like they got it all together.

Looked really good today in our mile relay. Ran a 3:24 and some change. Our long jumper went over 23' today and our pole vaulter went over 14'. We won the area meet by quite a bit. Life is good in FC at the moment!

Chandler King - 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles
Logan Veitenheimer - 3200, 1600

I was blown away by the area meet in Harper yesterday, more so by the sustained 25mph.wind gust to 45mph, La Pryor & Mason's boys mile relay was the highlight of the day; Mason won by just a few yards. 3:26.+

Stamford wins Dist 9 Div 1 Washington has another 5 gold medal day to lead the Dawgs. Qualified all 3 relays for the area meet this week in Munday. Stamford keeps up ist 800 relay tradition with a 1:31:08. Stamford was 1,2,3 in the open 200 which always helps with the strength in the relay. Go Blue

After playing Hico in football, you could tell that they had a LOT of pure athletes, and young if I remeber right? Congrts on the win. Beaver gal, mile relay the weakest, Stamford just never have many good quarter milers.

James is just a beast, a rare athlete in 1a, top it off w/a 42-43 inch vertical, and you understand why OSU was babysitting him when others came a calling.

Honestly has the build, ability, hands and smarts to play even on the level after college, if he can survive life away from home for a couple years. Heck he's still raw at receiver.
