Re: DCTF Pre-season Rankings
I’m looking at district 12. Thorndale May be tough as nails, but they return 7 lettermen and 4 starters each way, the same as Mason. For a dark horse from that district I’ll go with Thrall. They return 16 lettermen and 7 starters each way off a team that competed with us very evenly for a half in th...

Re: Football Skills Camps Return!
Good deal. No matter if you are 1a or 6a, if you can play you can play. I am waiting on my Dave Campbell Magazine and whatever the other one is I buy that is relatively new. I subscribe to DCTF so I’ll get that magazine; what is the other one? There was one a few years ago I liked that didn’t publi...

Football Skills Camps Return!
The Air-it-Out Elite QB Academy today in Abilene is well attended. There are a number of good college QB and Receiver prospects, including a 4 Star Tech QB signee, as well as a bunch of good high school players getting good instruction! The recruiting services are also present, and Steve Gideon of 2...

Re: Favorites in 2020
My problem with Herring back in ‘14 was his refusal to accept their loss to Mason. He brought an extremely entitled and undisciplined team to Heroes, they had a ton of senseless penalties and two ejections, but could have had more. He deflected blame, until photos and film ruined those claims. The i...

Re: So, High School Football 2020?
Interesting some of CDC's guidelines for opening schools No field trips - can't have sports with no field trips!!! One child per seat on a bus, skip rows... Unless we’re planning to drop another $3 trillion on schools, the CDC guidelines are a wishlist that will be fulfilled right after mine is.

Re: So, High School Football 2020?
Based on the Governor’s PC Monday, weight rooms opening June 8, camps and combines now being scheduled, I’m feeling much more confident than I have since March. Not too sure about the value of my UT season tickets, but I suspect I’ll get to watch the Punchers!

I’ll defer to others, but not while I was in the school system.ganadofan1 wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 12:33 pm Has he ever wanted to coach at Mason or was the timing just never right?

Re: Top 4 by District
District 14 Division 1 I probably should do more research on Ozona and Brackettville, but based on my recollection of what the teams we played have coming back, and the film of Ozona-Sonora - 1) Mason - Punchers only return two offensive and three defensive ‘starters’, but have quite a lot of experi...

He did a great job at Iraan too. Those were feisty, competitive well-coached teams without a bit of quit. Harper was improved last year, but that reclamation would have taken a while. We will miss him around town - he’s a Mason boy, and moved home when he retired at Iraan.
